TEIN members urged to propagate achievements Mills led Administration Story: Benjamin Xornam Glover, Bolgatanga The Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress,(NDC), Mr. Robert Yeli-Oni has tasked members of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) to intensify their outreach programmes and also use their knowledge as the intellectual wing of the party to promote the successes chalked by the ruling NDC government over the past three years. Mr. Yeli-Oni gave the advice in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Bolgatanga at the end of a four day tour of tertiary institutions in the region to motivate and equip TEIN members with the necessary communication tools to help propagate the achievements of the Mills led administration. He was accompanied the Northern Sector TEIN -coordinator, Mr Abraham Lambon, the Regional TEIN Coordinator, Mr. James Konzabre, and Bolgatanga Constituency Deputy Youth Youth Organiser, Mr. Abdalah Salifu . Institutions visited were, the Navrongo Campus of the University For Development Studies, Bolgatanga Polytechnic, St. Johns Bosco College of Education, Navrongo, Gbewaa College of Education, Pusiga and the Bolgatanga Nurses Training College. He said the team took time to explain to the TEIN members the programmes and policies initiated and implemented by the government over the past three years at both the national level and the region level all targeted at making life better for the people. This he explained included stabilizing the nation’s economy, provision of infrastructure in the areas of education, health amongst others. He said the government has so far eradicated not less than 180 schools under trees through the provision of modern structures in order to ensure safer and more comfortable place for teaching and learning activities. Mr. Yeli-Oni said at the second cycle level, about 90 structures in terms of dormitory blocks, classroom and offices have been provided for schools in the region, stressing that these are all pointers to a better Ghana agenda promised by the government. He advised the TEIN members to get themselves acquainted with the many development projects undertaken by the government in order to propagate those achievements when they return to their various communities during holidays. The Regional Youth Organizer also cautioned members of TEIN against complacency and urged them to work hard through engagement of with members of their various communities for the party to retain power come the next elections. He also advised the students to attach seriousness to their education and avoid engaging themselves in acts that is likely to jeopardize their future. The Regional Youth Organizer also urged the youth to take active part in the Biometric Voters Registration and also encourage their community members to ensure that their names are captured in the register when the exercise begins. Among the challenges raised by leaders of TEIN at the various campuses was the need to equip TEIN secretariats with logistics such as laptops with internet access for research purposes as well as funding to which the Regional Youth Organizer and his team assured to deliver. -End-
