Bee attack victim dies(Saturday, September 15, 2012. Page 17)

Story, Benjamin Xornam Glover One out of the eleven persons hospitalised at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital as a result of bee stings have died. Hamidu Alidu, 40, died on Thursday morning, a source at the hospital confirmed to the Daily Graphic. Alidu was among those receiving treatment after the insects went on a rampage on September 11, this year. A total of the eleven persons, being three females and eight males were admitted at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital with swollen faces and bodies as result of the bee attack. The incident is said to have started around 5:00pm around the Bawku Central Mosque. The bees were startled from their hive located in between the First National Bank building and the Bawku Central Mosque around the main traffic light. The incident created pandemonium as most people thought it was a recurrence of the conflict in the area. The victims, some of whom are visually impaired and who beg for arms around the Bawku Central Mosque. The victims later send to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital where they treated and discharge but due to their inability to settle their bills were detained briefly as they did not have health insurance cards. Their bills ranged between GHc13.00 and GHc20.00 However, the bills were later taken up by the Bawku Municipal assembly who gave each of the victims GH c 30.00 to cater for the bills. -End-
